## Telling Time Mega Unit

Telling time is an important Math skill to learn in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Grades. This math unit will give you everything you need to teach this skill! This resource includes:

– 5 Posters
– 84 Student Pages (See detailed description below)

In 1st grade, students should be able to tell and write time in hours and half-hours using analog and digital clocks.

In 2nd grade, students should be able to tell and write time from analog and digital clocks to the nearest five minutes, using a.m. and p.m.

By the end of 3rd grade, students should be able to tell and write time to the nearest minute and measure time intervals in minutes. They should also be able to add time correctly, for example if given a clock that shows it is 5pm and they are asked to add four hours and 16 minutes, they can do it!

This Telling Time Mega Unit created by My Teaching Library will give you and your students the tools to learn and practice all of the above skills!

What is an analogy? An analogy is a comparison between two things, comparing two things which are comparable in significant respects.

As early as 3rd and 4th grades, students should be diving in to American History. They also are needing to strengthen their ability to read and comprehend, with greater detail, content area text. This resource from My Teaching Library has been designed to not only teach students about the 16th president of the United States but to give students a chance to practice reading to comprehend informational text.

The first page of this resource is informational text. It is a 3 on the Automated Readability Index. It begins teaching about Lincoln’s his early life in Kentucky and progresses through his life touching on his family, his career as a lawyer, his presidency and finally his death by the hands of John Wilkes Booth.

After reading the text, the students have a reading comprehension worksheet, multiple choice, to test their understanding.

Next, there are two additional activities that can be used. One is a postcard writing activity and the other is a research activity.

## Day 3: 14 Days of Valentine’s Day Themed Teaching Resources

Combine a fun Valentine’s Day craft activity with Math graphing using this February, heart themed resource!

With this resource, students can create a variety of cute figures: a butterfly, a fish, a bunny, a cat, a penguin, a ladybug and a pig! After students create their craft, there are several graphing activities that can be completed, all surrounding their crafts.
